Empowering Women Through
Entrepreneurship
Chandranagar Mahila Samajik Sanstha is a community-based organization in the Mumbai metropolitan area committed to ending the exploitation and violence against women. Recognizing oppression based on caste, class, religion, and sexual orientation, we work to empower women, particularly women belonging to lower socio economic group. CMSS strives to create a voice and safe environment for women and children through outreach, advocacy,
leadership development, and organizing.
Community Outreach and Development
- To make women self reliant and conscious of their human and constitutional rights and to put pressure on the state for fulfilling its obligation towards its people to nurture women’s physical and emotional health
- To provide vocational training and credit facilities to women for self employment
- To create a sustainable and humane mode of development through people’s active involvement
Counselling and Rehabilitation
- To create a progressive space in society for all its deprived people, and to specifically resist casteism, sexism, religious chauvinism and homophobia
- To work towards the elimination of discrimination, inequality, intolerance and violence - both, within and outside the home
- To work towards the creation of a society based on equality, freedom, democracy, diversity and peace
Environment and Health Programs
- Conducting Health camps and workshop.
- Creating awareness on menstrual health and Reproductive health.
- Having plantation drives and cleanliness drives
